Meanings of Certain Words

These words have specific meanings in this Privacy Policy:

Privacy Policy: refers to this document

Program Applicants: meaning those who apply to Pawsible programs such as financial assistance, scholarships, chapter formation, etc.

Site: means Pawsible’s website hosted on www.pawsibleinc.org 

Guest: refers to visitors on Pawsible’s Site

Constituents: refers to those who are customers of Pawsible Inc. including our donors, volunteers, program beneficiaries, chapter members, and anyone else directly affected by Pawsible’s work. 

You and Your: refers to anyone engaging in Pawsible’s Site, programs, online communities, donation methods, or any other Pawsible initiative, including the above-defined constituents.

We and Our and Us: refers to Pawsible Incorporated, also known as Pawsible Inc. or Pawsible, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the state of Maryland.

Testimonials: refers to quotes, personal information, data, and any other information provided by individuals for Pawsible Inc. to collect and use as permitted.

Purpose of our Site
Pawsible operates our Site under the domain www.pawsibleinc.org for many purposes including, but not limited to, the following: 

• Provide information and education to the general public and allied professionals and organizations about Pawsible's mission and services;

• Provide information to those who might have need of our services;

• Provide resources and information 

• Assist those who wish to obtain puppy raiser support;

• Solicit volunteers to support Pawsible programs;

• Solicit contributions to support our programs and services.

At Pawsible, your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting it. We know you care about how your information is used and shared and we want to maintain your trust that we will protect your information. By visiting our Site or engaging in Pawsible’s programs or operations, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy notice.
Pawsible Inc. will use your information for the purpose for which you give it to us. We may also use this information to send you occasional emails or physical mail, unless you direct us not to.

Information We Collect

Pawsible Inc. collects personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, etc.) and demographic data (such as your zip code, etc.) provided by supporters through our Site, through our third-party processing sites, and non-digital means.

We collect such non-personal and personal information for the following purposes:

• To provide and operate our programs and services;

• To provide our guests and constituents with ongoing assistance and technical support;

• To be able to contact our guests and constituents with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

• To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

• To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

Web Hosting. When you visit our Site as a guest, our web server hosted by Wix.com will capture basic information about your activity on our Site including the pages you visit, the time and duration of your visit, and/or your IP address. It may also capture information about your browser, device, and other basic information commonly collected by web servers.

Analytics Tools. We may use third-party web analytic tools to capture information about how you use our Site. The providers of these tools may capture data about your activity on our Site via their own methods. 

Information You Submit. We may ask you to voluntarily provide information about yourself while using our Site or engaging as a constituent. For example, we may ask you to provide your email address when submitting a contact form. It is not required that you actively submit any information to use our Site, but you may not be able to access certain features of our Site or certain Pawsible programs if you do not provide all the information needed. We do not store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers. 

Links to External Sites. Our Site contains links to other websites. Please note that when following these links, you are entering a website that Pawsible Inc. has no responsibility for. Additionally, these other websites have their own Privacy Policies that you are subject to, which may be different than ours. 

Combination with Other Data. If you apply to Pawsible programs, donate, subscribe to our site, or otherwise engage in Pawsible’s operations, we may combine information we collect about you as a Site guest with information we have about you otherwise, including personally identifying information, such as your name.

Sharing Your Information

Pawsible does not sell or share any personal donor or program applicant information unless you authorize us to do so through processing or other means. Pawsible will only disclose your information in certain circumstances outlined here. Most information and data is shared only after removing personal information and/or aggregating information so it is not identifiable to you.

Personal Data. The term “personal data” means information that can be used to identify you as an individual, such as your name, email address, telephone number, etc. 

We will disclose your personal data in the following circumstances:

• to law enforcement and regulatory agencies as legally required, to report a suspected violation of law, to protect the health, safety or welfare of minors;

• to third parties who compel us to disclose the information via a subpoena or other compulsory legal process; and

• to enforce our policies, or to investigate suspected fraud or misconduct.

Otherwise, we do not share your personal data outside of our organization without your consent. See “Testimonials” for more information regarding methods of consent to share personal data or other personal information.

Aggregate, Anonymous Data.  Aggregate, anonymous data means non-personal data about many of our constituents and guests on our Site that we aggregate for analytical purposes. Pawsible Inc. may collect and aggregate anonymous information about guests who visit our site. We may share aggregate anonymous data externally to affiliated organizations engaging in our programs or other operations. This data is shared in a form that is not personally identifiable, and is in a form that it is not reasonably possible to personally identify you to the data. See “Program Applicant Privacy” for more information specific to program applicants. 

Third-Party Data Requests. Pawsible works with organizations that may request information or data about Pawsible’s operations and/or programs. All fulfilled data requests do not include personally identifiable information and are typically fully aggregated and anonymous data.

Protecting Your Information

Pawsible Inc. strives to keep your information secure and to safeguard it from unauthorized access. You provide your information at your own risk and we will do our due diligence to maintain its protection.

Access Controls. We use internal access controls to ensure only those who have access to your information are authorized to do so for their official duties.

Retention. We regularly backup and monitor the information we collect online to protect against data loss.

SSL. Our Site uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect your information. SSL is secure server software that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to Pawsible.

Site Protection. Our Site is hosted by Wix.com and with their assistance, we maintain physical, electronic, procedural and managerial safeguards to protect the information we collect online. Our website maintains up to date certificates as indicated by the lock icon in the url status bar that indicates a secure page.
Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts, there is always a risk that third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions. While we work to protect your information, no transmission online can be guaranteed secure. As a result, we cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit, and you transmit all information at your own risk. We expressly disclaim any liability for any loss, misuse, or alteration of your information.

Third-Party Processing

When you submit your information to Pawsible Inc. it may be shared with a reputable third party processor. These third-party processors may include, for example, companies that process credit card information or that deliver materials through email or physical mailing. Third Party Processors do not retain the information you provide them.

Testimonials

Testimonials collected by the Pawsible team are entirely optional and any information you provide you are permitting to be shared with the general public in addition to being collected.

Children’s Privacy

We do not wish to collect personal information from users under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you cannot make a purchase or donation through this website, and you should not provide personal information to us in our applications or contact forms. Communities, Commenting, & Online Communications

Guests on our Site and those who engage in Pawsible-hosted online communities may post reviews, comments, and other content, as well as submit suggestions, ideas, comments, or questions so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, and does not contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, or general spam. You may not falsify your identity or impersonate any person or entity. Pawsible Inc. reserves the right to remove or edit such content in its sole discretion.

Site & Blog

Visitors to our Site have the opportunity to engage on our Blog and in our community through commenting, liking, and sharing content. Pawsible reserves the right to remove or edit comments and other public website engagements at any time if the above listed expectations are not met.

You may be asked to create an account on our Site to engage in content. If you do create an account, your information is protected under this Privacy Policy.

Online Communities

Pawsible moderates online communities for the purpose of connecting people and fostering a place of community. Falsification or impersonation to gain access to our online communities will not be tolerated and Pawsible reserves the right to ban individuals that do so from participating.

Moderation. Pawsible’s online communities are hosted through social media sites and moderated by at least one Pawsible team member. Pawsible’s community moderators are there to develop the community, act as a community and Pawsible resource, and ensure those in and seeking to join the online community are abiding by Pawsible’s policies.

Guidelines. Please review our online community guidelines before joining an online community. Those who do not abide by these guidelines will be removed from the online community space. 

Requirements. Pawsible also has requirements for joining certain online communities. This is to protect the community entity and ensure those in the online community feel comfortable engaging. Pawsible reserves the right to deny entry to our online communities if those seeking to join do not meet our community requirements.

 

Donor Privacy
Pawsible values the privacy of all of our donors and has a donor policy that extends to all donor information processed online, by third-party processing sites, through mail, and personal interactions.

We do not share or sell any personal information provided by a donor (including but not limited to Name, Address, Phone, E-mail, Credit card data) to a third party. Pawsible also does not send donor mailings on behalf of other non-profit organizations & businesses or sell lists of donor information.

 

Online Giving Platforms

Pawsible uses multiple sites for online giving. Each site has their own privacy policies separate from Pawsible’s. Each site’s privacy policies are linked for your review.

Give Lively. Pawsible uses Give Lively to process most online donations and to host peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. Give Lively’s privacy policy.

Stripe. Pawsible uses Stripe as an option to process online donations through Give Lively. Stripe’s privacy policy.
PayPal. Pawsible uses PayPal as an option to process online donations and process donations through Give Lively. PayPal’s privacy policy.
Venmo. Pawsible uses Venmo as an option for fundraisers and online donations. Venmo’s privacy policy.

Amazon. Pawsible uses AmazonSmile and Amazon Wish Lists as an option for fundraising online. Amazon’s privacy policy.

Facebook. Pawsible uses Facebook and Facebook-owned platform, Instagram to process online donations. Constituents may also use this platform to host peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. Facebook’s privacy policy. 

Wix Store. Pawsible uses a storefront hosted by Wix’s website platform to process Pawsible’s online store orders and select fundraisers. When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only. Wix’s privacy policy. 

GoFundMe. In the past Pawsible has used GoFundMe to process online donations. We have since discontinued our use of GoFundMe’s services.

 

Program Applicant Privacy

Pawsible Inc. protects the privacy of all program applicants and has since our founding in March 2019. Program applicant privacy is important to us and our community to protect applicants from any negative emotions or social effects of their application. To be clear, Pawsible does not endorse, condone, or in any way support negative actions or reactions towards those who apply to or engage in our programs or other initiatives.

Program Applicants & Pawsible Chapter Members

Those who apply for financial assistance, scholarships, or otherwise engage with Pawsible’s programs as a member of one of our chapters will have their application(s) held under strict confidentiality. Pawsible team members are expected to keep all application details and any personal applicant information confidential, as outlined in our internal Code of Conduct. Pawsible team members who do not maintain confidentiality will be subject to Pawsible disciplinary action.
Information and applicant details shared in applications will not be shared externally unless explicit consent is provided by the program applicant. This consent may be provided in the application itself or in a stand-alone testimonial form (see “Testimonials” for more information).
At times, summaries or aggregated versions of application and program data that include no personal information may be shared within Pawsible and externally to report on Pawsible’s operations and impact.
