Volunteer Engagement Intern

Programs Team

The Volunteer Engagement Intern will be focused on communicating with Chapter Representatives and increasing engagement within the Pawsible Team. They will work closely with the Director of Chapters & Chapter Representatives. The Volunteer Engagement Intern is expected to act in an empathetic manner to the needs of others while also protecting and expanding Pawsible's resources so our organization is able to grow over time.

All members of Pawsible are expected to maintain internal confidentiality regarding financial applications and applicants. The only exception to this is individual applicants who have specifically elected for some of their information to be used in the promotion of Pawsible on a marketing level.

This is a remote, part-time, and unpaid position within a growing organization. We are currently unable to pay any team member within Pawsible. The remote aspect of this position will be conducted largely on your own time and will require fluency in Google Suite products. Video conferencing will be used for meetings that will occur on a regular basis as they fit in your schedule.

In addition to assisting the Pawsible Team in your department, interns will receive professional development, networking, and other insights into the workings of a small nonprofit. We are looking for individuals that are able to commit at least 5-10 hours a week, but can be flexible to your availability. If you are doing this for course credit, we will do our best to accomodate the needs of your academic program.

The Summer 2021 Internship Program will begin June 1, 2021 and end August 13, 2021. These dates can be adjusted to fit the needs of your academic program on an as needed basis.

You do not need to be a student or involved in volunteer puppy raising to be an intern.

Key Attributes

  • Accountability - The Director of Programs isn't the only one depending on you; all of Pawsible’s leadership at every level are all counting on you to be a strong leader in our young and growing organization.

  • Initiative - Becoming the Volunteer Engagement Intern requires taking initiative beyond the tasks given to you by the Director of Programs. This position shouldn't require a large number of hours per week, but we encourage you to grow and expand your duties in the role while communicating those efforts to the team.

  • Empathy - Pawsible was founded and is built around being empathetic towards the situations of others. We have no tolerance for judgment over financial situations or on any other discriminatory basis, and any cases of it are grounds for immediate removal from the position. We hope that as a Volunteer Engagement Intern you will use your position and resources to support volunteers and make volunteer puppy raising a better experience.

  • Willingness to learn and grow - Not only do we want you to help grow your role and Pawsible itself, but we also want you to use this position to learn and grow as a leader!
