Social Media Intern

Marketing & Communication Team

The Social Media Intern will be a member of the Marketing and Communications Communications Team. They will work closely with the Social Media Manager to help spread Pawsible’s mission. The Social Media Intern will aid in all of Pawsible’s social media and be responsible for frequent interaction with others through it. They are expected to act in an empathetic manner to the needs of others.


All members of Pawsible are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding financial applications and applicants. The only exception to this is individual applicants who have specifically elected for some of their information to be used in the promotion of Pawsible on a marketing level.

This is a remote, part-time, and unpaid position within a growing organization. We are currently unable to pay any team member within Pawsible. The remote aspect of this position will be conducted largely on your own time and will require fluency in Google Suite products. Video conferencing will be used for meetings that will occur on a regular basis as they fit in your schedule.


In addition to assisting the Pawsible Team in your department, interns will receive professional development, networking, and other insights into the workings of a small nonprofit. We are looking for individuals that are able to commit at least 5-10 hours a week, but can be flexible to your availability. If you are doing this for course credit, we will do our best to accomodate the needs of your academic program.


The Summer 2021 Internship Program will begin June 1, 2021 and end August 13, 2021. These dates can be adjusted to fit the needs of your academic program on an as needed basis.


You do not need to be a student or involved in volunteer puppy raising to be an intern.

  • Initiative - Becoming a Social Media Intern requires taking initiative beyond the tasks given to you by your manager and other Marketing & Communications Team members. This position shouldn't require a large number of hours per week, but we encourage you to grow and expand your duties in the role.

  • Empathy - Pawsible was founded and is built around being empathetic towards the situations of others. We have no tolerance for judgment over financial situations or on any other discriminatory basis. We hope that as Social Media Intern you will use your position and resources to support volunteers and make volunteer puppy raising a better experience.

  • Willingness to learn and grow - Not only do we want you to help grow Pawsible itself, but we also want you to use this position to learn and grow as a leader! This is a great opportunity for anyone that is willing to learn on the fly and challenge themselves to see what they can do!

As Social Media Intern you will:

Work as a member of a team

  • Work closely with the rest of the members of the Marketing & Communications Team

  • Be open to feedback

  • Be open to growing your knowledge of branding and marketing

  • Work with other teams on developing their social media campaigns and making them come to life.

  • Be flexible in working campaigns regarding getting donations, getting raisers to apply, and forming new chapters.

  • Work with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team to run social advocacy campaigns


Assist with Social Media

  • Understand Pawsible brand and values

  • Create content for Pawsible’s Social Media (we are currently on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and bridging in to Tik Tok)

  • Assist with Pawsible’s Instagram, which may include:

  • Leading the creation and operation of Instagram challenges

  • Liking posts, commenting, and responding to messages

  • Increasing post and community engagement, increasing number of followers and overall community outreach

  • Posting a minimum of 4 times a week

  • Grow Pawsible’s presence on Facebook

  • Research and get Pawsible involved in new social media sites; establish our presence on them to increase reach and engagement


Participate in Pawsible’s Internship Program

  • Bi-Weekly check ins with your Mentor

  • Monthly check ins with current Internship Program Manager

  • Attend Informative Presentations on every Pawsible Team

  • Attend Executive-Level Professional Development & Workshops

  • Join and complete a project with Pawsibe’s Inaugural Intern Cohort

  • Track hours working on Pawsible
